- Does it cost me anything?
- No. Ema Local is free for customers, and always will be. Businesses pay us, and only once they have seen the work we send them.
- Am I booking with you or with the business?
- With the business. We are the introduction and, where they use our calendar, the booking system. The work, the price and the guarantee are between you and them.
- Will you confirm a booking you can’t keep?
- No. If a business hasn’t come back to us yet, we’ll tell you that — rather than promise a slot and leave you waiting in for someone who never agreed to come.
- What if nobody is available?
- We tell you. We would rather say "nobody can do Thursday" than confirm a slot and leave you waiting in for someone who never agreed to come.
- Am I talking to a real person?
- Ema is an assistant, not a person, and will say so. She answers from information the business has given her. If she does not know something, she will say that too and put you in touch with them directly.
- What happens to my details?
- They go to the business you asked us to contact, so they can do the job. We do not sell them on. See our privacy notice for the detail.
- How do you decide who to show me?
- By trade, by whether they cover your postcode, and by whether they are actually available. Businesses who pay us are marked as such — being a paying customer does not make them a better plumber and we do not pretend otherwise.
